About Us
Shropshire Real Nappy Network
Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee
Registered Charity No. 1115085
The Shropshire Real Nappy Network (SRNN) has been running since 2000, when a group of parents responded to the lack of information about cloth nappies by setting up four nappy libraries with a small LEAF grant. Our activities consisted of giving talks to baby groups, NHS parentcraft sessions, etc, and providing information packs and telephone advice.
Since then we have had funding from Shropshire County Council, the Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP), Defra and the Shropshire Waste Partnership (SWP). The WRAP and Defra projects funded part time staff over a period of one year, but otherwise the work has been done by volunteers.
In October 2004 SRNN became a Company Limited by Guarantee, and in July 2006 we were registered with the Charities Commission. These moves were intended to consolidate our position with regard to receiving large amounts of funding, as was the case with WRAP, and also to enable us to access funding sources only available to charities.
Most recently, SRNN has had to reduce their activities due to lack of funding and volunteers. Currently, we now only have a website and email address, but no telephone number. If you are a parent, or professional in need of real nappy information, please contact us via email to be put in touch with a local volunteer.
The Shropshire Real Nappy Network is in need of more volunteers throughout Shropshire. If you use or have used real nappies on your baby and would like to get involved, please contact us.
